I never even thought about the cable DVR, but it is reported to use up to 35-40 watts of power equating to $5-$8 per month on your electric bill. As most of us know living here in balmy Tampa, Florida, the summer months usually mean increased electric bills as we have the a/c on longer and tend to be indoors more often than in the fall or winter.
